More About Lio

Benefits of Having Lio Around

Having an intelligent robot Lio around enables the staff of geriatric care centres to concentrate on priority and complex tasks. The nursing personnel benefit from Lio’s help by being relieved of their daily and recurring tasks. On top of that Lio has internalized the values of the retirement home and always takes the privacy of the residents and employees into account.

Assistant care robot Lio supports the senior residents of the facility by accompanying and helping them in everyday challenges. He is reminding them of scheduled everyday activities, distributing snacks, providing lunch menu choices and much more.

Lio is Constantly Learning

Lio’s tasks are constantly updated, expanded, activated and deactivated as required. For example, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, shaking hands has been altered to a bow and a reminder of hygiene measures to minimize the risk of contamination. Also, Lio will soon be able to support the daily disinfection of rooms, door knobs and handrails.

The expansion of the functionality is already underway. In the future, Lio will be able to use facial recognition to identify people and greet them individually. Lio will also learn how to use the elevator and will be able to expand his working area.
