This year, the China International Robot Show (CiROS) took place on July 8-11 at a brand new exhibition area, National Exhibition Center, Shanghai West.
Two P-Rob’s were in action: the black-white P-Rob 1R (6 degrees of freedom) at the F&P booth and the white blue P-Rob 1U+ (5 degrees of freedom) at the booth of our reseller in Beijing, Vsuntek. One was used to be teached and trained by the users and to show them how it stops when touched. The other one performed a pick & place task to demonstrate its reliability and precision needed for industrial applications.
The exhibition was separated into two main parts: Industrial robotics and Service robotics. P-Rob covers applications in both domains. The visitors indeed showed need partially for professional service robotics (logistics, healthcare, agriculture), personal service robotics (entertainment, intelligent living) as well as collaborative tasks in industrial applications.
P-Rob was different from all other robots shown. All visitor (including women and children) did like the leather-like soft cover with different colors. They confirmed that this personalized style enhances the acceptance of a robotic co-worker. This might become a crucial aspect for the new applications the collaborative robots will be used in.
In total, the F&P China team performed a great presentation of the latest P-Rob series and is fully busy now to follow-up all the new contacts with potential partners and customers. We will be back at CiROS next year!
