FH Vorarlberg Continues to Develop Assistant Robots for Care

Can an assistant robot do routine work so that committed nurses have more time for residents?

These and other questions are currently being asked by the research center „Nutzerzentrierte Technologien“ at the University of Applied Sciences Vorarlberg and the research partners University of Konstanz, Altenzentrum Emmersberg and nursing home St. Marienhaus (Caritas Konstanz). As part of the two-year research project “PUR” an assistance robot to support nursing is being tested and developed further.

The importance of care, in particular elderly care, will increase even more in the future due to demographic and health developments. If you observe the current situation surrounding the corona crisis, additional support for nursing staff is becoming increasingly important. During this time, the advantages of assistance robots in nursing become even clearer.
